SNAP! uses a non-toxic refrigerant encapsulated in a plastic pouch, that is then sealed inside the board for the life of the board. The package of refrigerant is a block of rigid foam that holds it’s shape frozen or thawed and, unless the board or plastic packaging is damaged, can be re-frozen for the life of the board.
